Already in 2004, Ballast Nedam division Infra started a first project in which Organice was being used to manage all the project documentation from the different project participants. Working with Organice and Microsoft SharePoint was immediately a success, and as a result Organice was being used in multiple construction projects.
Next to the need for document management in construction projects, there was an increasing need for an easy to use document management solution within all divisions of Ballast Nedam. Due to the success of Organice in construction projects, Ballast Nedam also evaluated Organice for their document management needs. Ballast Nedam chose to implement SharePoint company-wide and deploy Organice selectively to the exacting users.
About 1000 users at Ballast Nedam will manage their documents with Organice Explorer. In addition, planners will use Organice Transmit to distribute documents efficiently to multiple recipients and track who received what and when. Next to that, Ballast Nedam will selectively use Organice Scan to scan incoming correspondence and Organice Publish to publish and convert documents managed in SharePoint.
