* Part-time, variable number of work hours per week (estimated 20-30 hours per week). Must be flexible in number of hours able to work. Deadlines must be met. Shifts are flexible. * Work at home, transcribing independent medical examinations for multiple specialities. * Must drive to Seattle office two to three times per week, to exchange work (hard copy charts and tapes). This is not optional. (Commuting time is not paid.) * Internet/E-mail access required, used to E-mail finished reports, digital voice files, and instructions. * Transcribe from both micro-cassettes and digital voice files. (Transcriber and/or WAV foot pedal supplied, on loan, if needed.) * Word 2002 or more recent required. Windows XP is user friendly to auto-correct and auto-text features used. (Vista and Mac okay, but are not as user friendly to our applications.) Must be proficient in or quick to learn auto-correct and auto-text features or similar, add-on software. * Must have good grammar skills. * Must know medical terminology (spelling and application). Multispecialty experience a plus or experience necessary in family practice or urgent care or emergency or internal medicine. * Must train in-office, a minimum of 6 hours per day, four days per week, for one to two weeks, depending on learning curve. * Pay is per hour, based on a required word count per hour. Hourly wage is commensurate with experience.
