ok, this may sound strange or maybe someone out there in blogsphere can identify with me on this one but i think i have become a "fart-magnet". it started somewhere in the early summer of '05 where one of my former co-workers would fart and thought it was funny, and everyone ignored it except me. that opened the flood gates in which mostly female older co-worker would fart in the office, these women would eat ALL the time. digusting. maybe i am a member of the food police, but there is NO place for eating at work. food and work are (in my mind) the polar opposites of each other. anyhooch, i am now hyper aware of smells. people fart at video store, the grocery stores, banks, but what happened sunday on the second floor of bally's health club was the final straw. 55 mins into a 60 min cardio elliptical workout it finally happened this guy gets on the machine next to me and lets go of two of the most vile, wet, rankest farts i have probably smelt in my 31 years. i have sweating huffing and puffing and he just bombs the area. the messed up part about it no one else seemed to mind. except for the lady in the machine to my right. she took off her headphone stopped for a minute and looked around. i caught her out of the corner of my eye and looked over. we made eye contact and said loud enough for everyone to hear "some low class motherfucker just farted". she put on her headphones and kept going. i stopped at 55:42mins looked to my left and he (the farter) stared straight head and kept going. i ice-grilled got off my machine stopped in front of him and said "what the fuck" his punk ass response was to keep pedalling on the ellipitcal and move his head between the tv and some imaginary object and to pretend that it wasn't him. fellow bloggers, is this just my bad luck or have manners (i.e. farting in public) become acceptable. oh yeah, at bally's again today no farter just a really loud girl on her bluetooth headset talking dumb loud alternating in english and spanish arguing with her boyfriend then talking to some random chick about bullshit at the top of her lungs. again it was ignored and accepted. did we lose a cultural war or something?
