Jason McCluskey and Jeff Ruth sat together at lunch and proceeded with their day as usual with making fun of Brian Bar, and thus the bros were born. Soon after Jason and Jeff hung out after school playing basketball, video games, the many pokemon games and as sad as it sounds, watching MTV's TRL. Jeff was friends with Ryan Witzell and Eddie Montanez at the time, and introduced them to Jason, and the four of them seemed to click instantaneously. These four known simply as "The Bros" at the time, hung out daily and did just about everything together. Jason and Jeff found out that they were in alot of the same classes in Eighth grade so they got to hang out, and make fun of people all the time. Ryan was going to St. Francis of Assisi at the time and along with Eddie who was going to Jefferson Elementary at the time, could only hang out with Jeff and Jason after school. Also among the usual kids these four hung out with were Nick Smith, Dave Carlson and Bobby Kocher. Memorable CDs: 2000-2001 Soon, Jeff and Jason went to High School, and found that yet again, they had all of their classes together. So school generally consisted of talking about video games and trading pokemon cards. This was also the year that Sandlot baseball was born. They played in a field behind Patriots Park using Aluminum bats and tennis balls hitting the balls over the fence in attempts at hitting the cars and trucks that passed by. A few months went by and soon Hadji, the person running Patriots Park, decided he wanted to turn their baseball field into a parking lot. So ironically, The Bros along with Nick, Dave and Bob, decided to start playing in the Church Parking lot right behind their old baseball field. This was the year that Blink-182 became big with The Bros. They released their cd entitled "The Mark, Tom and Travis show: The Enema Strikes Back." So they dumped their pokemon cards for Blink-182 cds and skateboards. Also That same year, Eddie and Jeff in their spare time, decided to go down to the local KMArt and steal computer games to play. One day, Eddie needed a new cd player, and along with Jeff went down to KMart and stole a pair of scissors to open the CD player wrapping. Needless to say, they got caught and were grounded for about a month. Memorable Cds: Blink-182: The Enema Strikes Back, Blink 182-Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. 2002 (The Dark Ages) In the Summer of 2002, Jason and Dave became really good friends, or in Bro Terms "Friendly Friends" and formed a new hangout group including Nick and Bob. Leaving Ryan as a Neutral party, and Eddie and Jeff to become new best friends. It was during these times that The Historic prank phone calls were made, Gran Turismo 3 was all the craze and Jason took his first steps into the new world of "punk Rock". Jason went to the Vans Warped Tour and fell in love with NOFX. 2002 The Bros are back Soon, Fall came and Jeff knew that to get Jason back he'd need to befriend Dave. So he did what was necessary and hung out with Jason, Dave, Nick and Bob for about 4 months until the opportunity to get Jason back permanently presented itself. In November 2002, Microsoft released it's original Xbox, which Jeff got for christmas. And knew it was the proverbial "key to the city" so he got Jason to come over and play it Christmas night, and The Bros were back. This was also the beginning of Jeff's skipping school frenzy. 2003 2003 was a very important year for The Bros. In the early months, Jason got Jeff into "punk Rock" and they listened to Anti-Flag's Mobilize while playing Grand Theft Auto 3 almost constantly. Soon, Jason introduced Jeff, Ryan and Eddie to Square One. Jeff, Jason and Eddie then went to see them play live at Emmaus High School. Jason and Eddie then met 2 girls at the mall, named Katrina and Jenna. All the while stealing Valentine's Day cards from the Dollar Store to give to them. a month or so, Eddie got bored with Jenna and broke up with her. Soon after, Katrina ended things with Jason because she considered him to be "corny". So, a few months later Jason, Jeff, Nick and Eddie saw the legendary Ska band Royal Noise Brigade. This show sparked many memorable moments, like the 100 man hack outside the West End Recreation Center and the indescribable pit. Then, The Bros discovered Mayfair. A new place for their 100 man hack. Eventually, August came, and Madden 2004 was set to come out. The Bros watched the making of the game on MTV and Jason, Jeff and Ryan were sold. They had to have the new Madden. So Jason and Jeff got it and played the game constantly. Soon after, The Bros played football outside with college kids in their old baseball field. Jason and Jeff also began to frequent their new hangout spot. Queen City Diner. Memorable CDs: NOFX-The War on Errorism, AFI-Sing the Sorrow, Alkaline Trio-Good Mourning, Rise Against- Revolutions per Minute. 2004 2004 brought alot of change. Jason and Jeff stayed up late watching Roseanne re-runs and hanging out at Queen City Diner in their spare time. Soon, sports began to make a serious impact in Jason, Jeff and Ryan's lives. Baseball season was coming up and The Bros decided to choose their favorite baseball teams. Jeff selected the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jason chose the Toronto Blue Jays. Ryan picked the Houston Astros while Eddie went with the Boston Red Sox. A monumental purchase for Jason and Jeff was MVP Baseball 2004. They became addicted and skipped school alot to play it, resulting in Jeff finally deciding to drop out of High School to stay home and play it. Jason soon followed suit. Jeff then decided that baseball video games wouldnt get him anywhere in life, so he got his GED and went to college in Pittsburgh, PA at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where he met his girlfriend Katie. This was also the first year Jeff and Jason could legally vote. So, with all of their hatred for the current president George W. Bush, went and voted for John Kerry that November, in hopes of removing Bush from office. It was to no avail. Memorable CDs: Bad Religion-The Empire Strikes First, Descendents-Cool To Be You. 2005 Jeff came home from school on christmas break and met Ryans future girlfriend and also future bro, Ellen Bernhard. In March, Jeff got kicked out of school for bad grades and came home to hang out with Jason, Ryan, Eddie and Ryan's new girlfriend Ellen. These 3 months or so Jeff was home, are highly regarded as the "Golden Era" of The Bros. Jeff came back with a new form of enjoyment in "Toast Parties". So, Toast Parties, Dominos 5-5-5 deals, and Burger King runs for Star Wars Kids Meal Toys. In July, Jeff moved back to Pittsburgh for college, this time to the International Academy of Design and Technology. Jeff met Jen and Jamie, two girls who became his best friends while he was out there. Meanwhile, Jason got a bike from Ryan with no brakes and ended up riding down a hill and flipping over the handlebars hurting his arm and causing him to go to In December Jeff got sent home on bad grades again, this time making a fake report card so he could get a laptop. Then the school mailed the real report card home, Jeff's dad found out and that was the end of the laptop. Jason also moved to Pittsburgh, but for different intentions. He was to live in Job Corps. having his housing, food and college paid for by the government. Which left Ryan, Eddie and Ellen here to hold The Bros together. Eddie got new friends and left Ryan and Ellen to hang out by themselves, which was regarded by many as their demise. 3 Months later they broke up, and Ryan to this day is still trying to get her back.
