After finishing high school in ((2002)), Smith left to replaced with mutual friend Andrew Parsons. Parsons only filled the Doomed Air Queen drumstool for 5 months before leaving due to creative differences and other committments (Parsons was still in high school at the time, while Lavill and Woodhall had departed high school). During the summer months, the remaining members practiced in Lavill's garage honing their sound. Described as "((Sonic Youth)) with ((Melissa Auf Der Maur|Auf Der Maur)) vocals" and "((Mark Arm)) sound", early songs including: "Knauf" and "For The Cow" (a biting song about ((Avril Lavigne))). The earliest Doomed Air Queen that is still played is "Dinner" (later including on "Kontiki"). Around this time, future drummer Alex Lowe broke his ((arm)) while ((skateboarding)). In his words "I screamed so much I got tired of it". In fact, when Lavill and Lowe first met, his arm was still in a sling. ==Bedroom days== In ((2005)), Richard and Alex Lowe met at college. After rejecting opportunities to drummer in "((Blink 182)) soundalikes", Alex Lowe joined Doomed Air Queen, while admitting being "a punk drumming for a grunge band". Rehearsals was set up at Lowe's house. Embryolic songs were formed such as "Smile At Us When It's Right" and "Tickle". "Dinner" was vastly improved and became in Lowe's words "A ((Bad Brains)) song". Also numerous covers became a staple of these practices (both serious and unserious). ((Territorial Pissings)), ((Breed (song)|Breed)), ((Big Me)), ((Jesus Doesn't Want Me For A Sunbeam)) and ((No Sleep Tonight)) were thrown into these rehearsals as well as new original compositions such Woodhall on guitar, Lowe on bass and Lavill on drums).as "Oceans", "Leave Them Alone", "G.I.G" and "Shlam" (which featured Doomed Air Queen recorded a two song demo prior to "Kontiki" called "CD Covers For The Partially Sighted" featuring bad quality live versions of "Smile At Us When It's Right" and "Tickle"). ==Kontiki== "Kontiki" was recorded in ((May)), ((2005)) and featured "Oceans", "Dinner" and "Leave Them Alone". Lowe can be heard after Lavill's vocal take singing ((The Muppets)) theme tune. "Kontiki" is hosted live on the Doomed Air Queen website. The tracklist is as follows: 1. Oceans (Lavill, Woodhall, Lowe) 2. Dinner (Woodhall, Lavill, Lowe) 3. Leave Them Alone (Lavill, Woodhall, Lowe) In late 2005, Doomed Air Queen's song "Leave Them Alone" was used on Stalker Records' compilation album "Young Loud and Snotty". ==Current line up== Richard Lavill - ((vocals)), ((guitar)), ((bass guitar|bass)). Alexandra Woodhall - ((bass guitar|bass)), ((vocals)), ((guitar)). Alex Lowe - ((drum kit|drums)), ((vocals)).
