In the immortal words of my favorite South Park character: *sigh*  "Ok Butters, go and get World of Warcraft so you can join the online gaming sensation that is sweeping the nation." So, I did. and let me tell you entertainment is the mother of invention, not necessity. I discovered upon installation that I needed more RAM. So I ordered some more and it will arrive in 3 days time. Upgrading my computer was something that I have been meaning to do for a while, but it hasn't been a pressing issue... well, now it is! The world of warcraft awaits! I am also very torn about something...My computer has enough RAM to play when the population of the world is low and I have been playing my first character. However, during periods of high population, I am logged off and researching shamans and I have discovered that the general consensus is that they suck.  I like my shaman, she is a cool punk rock lookin' troll chick. But, alas "The Chosen" need people who can support the team more efficiently.  While I could focus on healing magic, I don't want to be a weaker, horde version of a paladin. I like the fact that I could throw some elemental magic around, but according to the forums it seems like the only way to have any kind of competitive edge with priests(healing role) or mages(DPS) is to concentrate on one or the other. If I concentrate on elemental, mages are way better. If I concentrate on healing I could be picked up for groups, but...would I be any different than a paladin?  Is it possible to neglect the enhancement talent tree and divide your points between the two other talent trees? (In a sense this would make a character similar to the red mages of the original Final Fantasy game...) No one on the forums that I read seem to have tried this. But my fear is that I will spend long hours playing a character that will still not compete, and may not be desirable for raids and instances...(the red mages were awesome to have at low level, harder to use at the higher levels) So, do I stick with "Reveell" or do I move on to another character? I have a character that I would like to play, but this one was going to be for strictly PvP combat and was going to be a solo character (no guilds, but lots of time in the battlefields and arenas!)   *sigh* The trials of a newb.
