So i've been going to this open mic pretty regularly on wednesdays and the manager at the place offered me a gig a while back. So I was all like "cool." and he says, says he, tonight, "Ok so you're playing Saturday." and now I'm thinking this is going to be an exceptionally weird night Saturday because I have 2 hours to fill so it's gonna be poetry, cover songs, originals, improvisations and weird noise and jazz and ska and punk and acoustic distortion like all get out and all other sorts of random stuff. He also told me he'd hook me up with a show closer to xmas so i could actually be prepared to play and have lyrics written for the 5 songs I'm working on right now, and be able to invite peopleto come and see because all of my friends will be in town. Man, run-on sentences are really addictive. So anyhow: Stacey's Coffee Parlor is in falls church and pretty relaxed and a lot of their baristas are kind of pretty college chicks and the espresso is good and there will be art everywhere supposedly and if you need any more incentive to come see me you should keep in mind this will be my first musical performance (outside of open mics) since Slow Children back in High School. I may even be forced to play some Slow Children songs CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I don't think you'll have to pay any money, which means, incidentally, I probably won't make any money on this, but what the hell, it gives me a little more license to do whatever I want. kthxbye
