Edit summary: First Attempt == History == Stable Mind State was a smalltown punk rock band based out of La Crosse, Wisconsin. It consisted of three members, the guitarist David Bayer, the bassist Nick (Marty) Martin, and drummer Ben Schoenebeck. Though some might say that the band originated in Madison Wisconsin since that is where the first practices took place and first songs were written, some of their best material and most serious recording occurred at Ben and Dave's house in La Crosse. In the summer of 2004 the band first got together in a house where Nick and Dave were living in Madison to record their first song, "punk Rock Has Feelings Too". Having thrown a house party and playing for their guests, "punk Rock Has Feelings Too" was an immediate hit with a catchy tune and soon became known in many college towns across Wisconsin. Though the band agrees that it is their worst song, it still remains a favorite among 95% of the listening crowd. Though the band was shortlived, only lasting until the spring of 2005, the three remained good friends as they concentrated on college and put their musical ambitions aside for a while. Nick however didn't last too long, as he formed a new band in the spring of 2006 with a friend from Madison calling themselves The Mut Show.
