Burgundy 4U invites you to share your Burgundy experiences with other Burgundy lovers and home owners on

Saturday August 9th at Château de Bourbilly near Epoisses.

Château de Bourbilly was completed in 1739 by Marguerite de Beaujeu, it is set in beautiful grounds laid about by Alphand in the small hidden valley of the Serein that was praised by Lamartine. It achieved a new reputation of great "elegance" during the romantic period. The Rabutin family, Saint Chantal and her grand daughter, madame de Sévigné lived here. Bourbilly has been owned by the same family since 1813.

For those that want to stay on, we have booked for 100 people at the Pomme d’Or restaurant for a convivial dinner including wine for 25 euros.

15:30 Welcome at the Château de Bourbilly
16:00 Short explanation of the park, and visit.
16:30 Visit the interior of this castle, accompanied by the owners: Baron et Baroness de Crépy
17:30 Refreshments in the main hall of the castle, or the courtyard weather permitting, offered by Burgundy4u

Evening program

18:30 Transfer to Restaurant La Pomme d’Or Epoisses
19:00 3-courses dinner with a glass of white and a glass of red wine

Mixed salad of cucumber, “cabbage apple and raisins” cocktail , with a toast of Epoisses cheese

Dinner is on reservation basis only to be paid in advance that evening. Fees: 25 € for dinner, 12€ for children.

Driving directions

On the A6 Autoroute du Soleil, use exit 23-Bierre-lès-Semur toward Semur-en-Auxois/Montbard

At Courcelles les Semur turn right to stay on D4m/Rue de l'Eglise, stay on this road for 3 km.
Go through Vic de Chassenay on to the D9, go under the autoroute A6, go through the hamlet of Bourbilly.
The castle is signposted a little further, after the forest on the left, with a sharp turn.
