Most likely, requests for armoured cars will be sporadic. However, should you receive such a request your client will expect you to respond quickly and accurately. My company owns two “Guards”, with differing protection levels. Guard is the brand name of the factory prepared armoured Mercedes Benz. If increased safety is desired, a class B4 will be more than adequate. If there is a direct threat a class B6 will be necessary. Besides an adequate vehicle, personal security is exactly that, -personal. An absolutely essential element is the training and experience of the chauffeur. My top five chauffeurs all have more than ten years specific experience in the transportation of executives and have followed the leading driver-training courses. These “Security-Drivers” are of course carefully screened. In order to stay current on the latest developments I recently followed the exclusive two-day Mercedes Benz Guard course in Stuttgart. It is often a mere fraction of a second in which a specifically trained security driver is able to make a difference with respect to other types of chauffeur. This enables them to recognize potentially threatening (traffic) situations earlier and bring your client responsibly and comfortably to his/her destination.
