Shireen Mitchell on Jonny's Par-tay Come Par-tay with Shireen Mitchell (digitalsista on twitter), the founder and director of Digital Sisters, a DC based nonprofit which promotes and provides tech education and enrichment for women and their children who are traditionally underserved. We are going to look at how gender, class, and color factor into the digital divide, why we should care, and what we can do to create a society where the benefits of technological literacy are available to all. Shireen has been a geek since back in the Atari days, learning to program at age 14 and never looking back. She uses her powers for good, speaking, writing, teaching, and leading: all with the goal of helping women from underserved communities and their families reap the benefits of technology.
