Job Title: Loss Prevention Officer Job Location: Sites throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley Division: FBIG Loss Prevention and security Remuneration: Commensurate with experience Education: BST Certificate, First Aid an asset Experience: security Field or related Job Type:: Full/Part Time The FBIG Loss Prevention Officer will observe and enforce FBIG and client standard operating procedures (SOP) and post orders to protect life and property. Loss Prevention Officers may be assigned to retail sites and events requiring plain clothes officers with opportunities for crossover into other departments such as close personal protection or executive driving and protection. Expected skills and competencies necessary to perform duties include but are not limited to: • Provide effective loss prevention to our retail clients by establishing store integrity, communicating with store staff and management throughout shift and maintaining store integrity throughout shift. • Protecting client’s property from damage and theft through active patrol, observation, apprehension, report writing and by communicating with appropriate authorities. • Protecting client’s staff, customers and general public from bodily harm by using dialogue and conflict resolution skills to manage critical situations. • Provide plain clothes surveillance and security for private and corporate events including close personal protection and driving duties for executives and VIPs. Minimum Requirements: • Posses a valid security Workers Licence and training certificates as required by the applicable Province or State Licensing Agency. • Have a command of the English language and ability to be clearly understood in English. • Employ strong verbal and written communication skills • Experience writing accurate and thorough formal reports • Posses computer processing skills including Microsoft Office • Provide satisfactory drivers abstract if operating a company owned vehicle • Employ professional Demeanour and Appearance • Posses a high level of Integrity and a strong Work Ethic • Be Client-Customer Service and public relation oriented • Have attention to detail and strong observation skills • Have the ability to work independently and with other security team members • Have prior proven experience (1+ years preferred) Remuneration: Commensurate with experience Pre-employment Screen requirements: As a condition of employment as permitted by law, you must submit to a background investigation which includes verification of past and current employment, character references, criminal background check, education, licensing and drug screening analysis.
