JOB POSTING Position No. 11-17 INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL DESIGNER Reporting to: Electrical Unit Leader Atlantis Systems International currently has 6-month to 12-month contract openings for Electrical Designers and would like to hear from Engineers or Technologists with the skills necessary to work on the electrical and electronic systems for a mixture of small and large programmes, including aircraft maintenance training simulators and aircrew training simulators. Working closely with the Systems Engineering Team Lead, you will help design and develop the system documentation, implementation and validation processes required to produce new products. You will work in a multi-disciplinary development team with engineering team leaders and project management to successfully plan, manage, and execute the technical aspects of product development projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Intermediate Electrical Designer is responsible for: • Planning assigned tasks from start to finish, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and performance, • Understanding technical specifications and requirements that define design constraints, • Anticipating technical and schedule problems; being pro-active in mitigating risks, • Performing electrical engineering design tasks within the constraints of budget, schedule, and performance, while adhering to corporate and departmental procedures, • Working with the Mechanical Unit on electromechanical assemblies, • Providing engineering support to the Manufacturing Department during the product's build cycle, and to the Software/Simulation Department during the design, integration, and acceptance phases, • Performing some assembly work, unit testing, and system integration, both in-house and on site. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will possess: • Three to five years electrical design experience, including digital, analogue, power and micro-controller based systems, as well as software experience with C and Assembler, • Excellent debugging skills using a variety of test equipment, • Proficiency in OrCAD, Excel, and Word, and knowledge of Windows operating system, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Excellent organizational skills.
