Music is a waking dream, it pours from hidden places in our hearts, minds, and souls with an inspiring message that logic cant quantify. Some people learn to tap into the power of music early others take decades to reach the level a spirituality necessary to hear the magic in the music. Do you love music and the challenge of blending musical styles to appeal to larger markets while remaining true to your artistic vision? Do you understand that its called music business, because music is a business and as such must be developed to support the artists and their crew, producers, engineers etc? We are looking to form a Hip Hop inspired live performance band that draws from several genres from 80's hair band rock to 90's R&B, and even 70's Album Rock. These sounds will be pulled together around vocal harmonies and hip hop verses broken into 8 bars and 4 bars to keep them fun and playful. The Busker Douglas Project has some principals: 1- Intrigue the ladies, cuzz where the ladies go the guys will follow. 2- Drumbeats and base lines must be stripped down conspicuous and easy to grove too. 3- lyrics should always talk about real life and attempt to connect listeners to that moment. 4- Songs must rock the house when performed live. 5- Craft songs that can be seamlessly expanded for live shows to showcase band members skills. 6- We go green with tasteful references and sustainable practises where choices are available. 7- Be able to improvise and play our songs acoustically on a street corner. 8- No Bling! We are looking for skilled musicians that want to do something fresh, that looks different, and sounds different then the clone, high volume, high expectation, screaming acts that dominate the local venues. A new urban sound for people living is uncertain economic, political, and social times.
