When a woman loses her genetic connection to her potential offspring, yet still wants to experience pregnancy and nursing, using an egg donor is a wonderful option. Couples are not looking for an identical match, but rather traits in their donor that seem familiar. Women in the SE Asian community have an especially difficult time finding a donor. The couple hopes you might understand what it would be like to find yourself in this position and needing a member of your community to come to your assistance. Besides her Asian background, the recipient is an accomplished artist/designer and comes from a very creative/artistic family and is hopeful that she may still have the ability to see that trait continue on in her family. Please consider responding if you are a woman of Asian heritage, age 20 3/4 to 31, healthy, non-smoking/no drugs, height-weight proportionate, in college or a college graduate. Pregnancy history preferred but not required. A little more about the recipient - perhaps you share some of these similarities as well: besides being a painter, she does interior design, plays the piano, is a huge animal lover, loves independent/art/foreign films, music & cultural events (going to shows, gallery openings, etc.) travel and reading. More about the medical process and schedule: You must have some weekday schedule flexibility/availability in your schedule for a very short amount of time to attend the various screening and cycle appointments in Seattle, Eastside, Southend and Bellingham. You will be given plenty of advance notice of these appts. and you will participate in the planning of the cycle schedule so that it works with your schedule. Generally these appts. will take place between 7:30-9 a.m. If you are currently job hunting, please understand that once you have committed to the process it is a serious commitment and you must be willing to maintain the flexibility described above. Compensation is $5,000. All medical screening, insurance, legal agreement, etc. is paid for by the couple. Other (clinic) requirements: - must be between the ages of 20 ¾ - 31 - non smoker, no drugs - Must be able to legally work in the U.S. - you must have knowledge of the health status/cause of death of your biological parents, your siblings, your parent’s siblings, and your grandparents. - Cannot be on asthma, anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, Lithium or ADD/ADHD, Thyroid medications. Other medications will be reviewed. - Birth Control Pills, Nuva Ring, and Non-hormonal IUD’s are OK to proceed. - Can not be nursing, must have normal periods, cannot be on Depo-Provera, can not be trying to get pregnant.
